'This group is for families with homeschooled teens (aged 12-18) living in and around the greater Melbourne (Australia) area. The purpose of the group is simple: social connection for homeschooled teens (and their parents!). (This group is only for those who are currently homeschooling, so if your teen is still at school and you are considering home ed as an option, we have listed some helpful websites/groups at the bottom of the group description.) If you have already applied for homeschooling registration for your teenager and are due to start, or your teen is already homeschooling, please click the ‘join’ button and then email us at email@example.com telling us a bit about your family, i.e. confirm that you live in the greater Melbourne (Aus) region, that you’re homeschooling at least one teenager (must be aged 12-18), how long you’ve been homeschooling, etc. If you’re a teen, you’re also welcome to join, although you may prefer our other group just for Melbourne homeschooled teens to chat and connect amongst yourselves: see this link. If you still want to join here, send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org to let us know how old you are, and how long you’ve been homeschooling. Please don’t tell us your actual address ;) but make sure you confirm that you do live in Melbourne (Australia). '
'This is a group for homeschooled teens to chat and get to know each other. Please answer the questions when you request to join. If you don't, I can not accept you into the group. If you are a parent of a homeschooled teen, please request to join our family group.'
'Come and meet up with other Homeschool Families at one of the three zoos around Melbourne, on different days sometimes, to suit those who have different commitments happening!! This is a page to suggest spontaneous meetups or plan in advance a Homeschool group meetup!! We became a member which means as a concession price of $80 my 12 yr old and I can go as many times in a year as we wish to these three zoos, plus 5 others interstate....plus we get to have a free 45 min behind the scenes tour with the rangers..... A monthly meetup is suggested!'
'This is a group for people who practise gentle parenting, who also homeschool. There is no political or religious affiliation. Share your homeschool adventures, ideas and questions! No advertising without admin consent, please.'
'The West Melbourne Co-Op is a group formed to welcome ALL homeschoolers! Our goal is to provide hands-on, educational enrichment for the core areas of study, as well as an opportunity for our kids to form friendships and lifelong memories. All must contribute something - time, money, or talent - but nobody must contribute EVERYTHING. Our studies and activities are free of religious doctrine and teaching, but not averse to it. Everyone should be able to find a home here.'
'A welcoming group for parents and carers homeschooling children aged 4-9, and those thinking about it! A place to find friends, post meet-ups and have supportive chats about topics that concern this very special age-group of homeschoolers! Post your events and meet-ups (whatever and wherever they are!), connect with other families and have fun! We totally support and adore multi-age learning and hanging out, but sometimes the smaller but not really small kids seem to have less special opportunities and chances to make it all about them!'
